Who We Are
Backwoods Co. (Backwoods Company) is a 5-piece band born in Tappahannock, Virginia, and we don't fit in a box—and we're not trying to. We're here to deliver high-energy live music that gets crowds on their feet and keeps them there. Whether we're playing for 10 people or 10,000, we bring the same raw talent, grit, passion, and intensity to every single show. One of our trademarks is having 3 guitarists in the band. Something not seen very often. Our sound is something different, blending the edgy rock side of country, the soul of Southern rock, and the raw power of hard rock into something that's entirely our own. We're not your typical country band, and we're not just another rock act. We're Backwoods Co., and our music is rooted in authentic Virginia DNA with a genre-defying spirit that sets us apart.

Country Rock Grit – We take the rebellious, edgy side of modern country and crank it up. Think driving rhythms, bold lyrics, and the kind of energy that makes you want to raise your glass and sing along.
Southern Rock Soul – There's a warmth and authenticity in Southern rock that can't be faked. We bring that soulful, storytelling tradition to every performance, honoring the roots while making it our own.
Hard Rock Power – We're not afraid to turn it up and let loose. The raw intensity of hard rock runs through our veins, adding an edge and punch that makes our live shows hit different.

Our Mission
We're not here to just play at your event. We're here to create an experience. Our mission is simple: engage the audience, bring the energy, and make sure every person in the room feels the music. We don't phone it in, and we don't hold back. From the first note to the last, we're all in.
Whether it's a wedding, a private party, a festival, or a corporate event, we treat every performance like it's the most important show we've ever played. Because to us, it is.
Where We Play
We're proud to call the Northern Neck area of Virginia home, and we primarily serve this region and surrounding areas. But we're always open to traveling for the right event. If you've got a stage and a crowd ready to rock, we're ready to bring it.
We've played weddings, private parties, birthdays, and we're gearing up for bigger stages.
Meet the Band
Walker Andrews
One of our three guitar players; Walker started playing at a young age, developing his own unique style with influences from Zakk Wylde, Eric Steckel, Randy Rhodes, and Eddie Van Halen. He is particularly adept in using advanced techniques that add layers upon layers to our sound.
Jonathan Nice
Adding lead and rhythm guitar to the mix; Jonathan has spent over a decade listening and tuning in to the undertones and subtleties of music. He has an ear for what many often overlook and adds style and fills that perfectly round Backwoods Co.'s tone. He has many country and bluegrass influences such as: Alison Krauss and Union Station, Dan Tyminski, and Brad Paisley.
Balazs "The Animal" Gyenge
Carrying the driving rhythm and punch that is Backwoods Co.'s key characteristics; Balazs has been playing the drums, perfecting his craft for decades. He creates a solid foundation on which the rest of the band builds. His signature drum fills are hard-hitting and generate an energy that people carry with them long after we've left the stage.
John "Natas" Roche
Natas doesn't bring just talent as a bass player to the stage, he also brings knowledge. With his educational background, attending Berkley School of Music, he adds an important element to the group. Being an audiophile and having an immense understanding of music theory, gives Backwoods Co. a unique and commanding presence on the stage. His musical influences are Stray Cats, Misfits and Devin Townsend.
Jimmy Curtis
Lead Vocals and Guitar - Jimmy has been playing from a young age. He started playing professionally at only 14 years old. He brings methodical and articulate guitar leads, perfectly accentuating Backwoods Co.'s sound. With musical influences like Joe Bonamassa, Eric Steckel, and Charlie Starr; it's clear that his style compliments the heart of Backwoods Co.
